When should I put winter tires on in Hamilton?
Switch once daytime temperatures stay below 7°C. In Hamilton that is usually late October to early November.
Do you sell cheap tires?
Yes. Discount pricing is in our name. We sell new winter, all-season, all-weather and summer tires, with installation and balancing.
Can you fix a flat tire?
Yes. Nails, screws and slow leaks are repaired when the damage is in the tread and the tire is safe to fix. Sidewall damage means a replacement.
Tires and safety.
Do I need an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome when a bay is free. During the spring and fall rush, booking ahead is the fastest way in. Send a request with the Book now form or call (905) 586-2626.
How long does a tire changeover take?
Most seasonal swaps on wheels that are already mounted take well under an hour. Mounting new tires onto rims takes longer. We give you a time estimate when you book.
Are all-weather tires the same as all-season tires?
No. All-weather tires carry the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol and are rated for snow. All-season tires are not, and they stiffen in the cold. For true Hamilton winters, dedicated winter tires still grip best.
Does Ontario give an insurance discount for winter tires?
Ontario insurers are required to offer a discount to drivers who use winter tires. The amount varies, so ask your insurance provider.
How do I know what tire size I need?
Look at the sidewall of your current tire for a code like 225/45R18, or check the sticker inside the driver's door jamb. You can also tell us your year, make and model when you book.
How much tread is too little?
Ontario's legal minimum is 2/32 of an inch, but grip in rain and snow drops long before that. Replace winter tires around 5/32 and summer or all-season tires around 4/32.
Why is my tire pressure light on?
Cold weather lowers pressure, roughly 1 PSI for every 5 to 6°C drop. If the light stays on after you top up, a sensor or a slow leak may be the cause. We diagnose both.
Which areas do you serve?
Drivers come to us from all over Hamilton, including Hamilton Mountain, Stoney Creek, Ancaster, Dundas, Waterdown, Binbrook, Mount Hope, Glanbrook and Burlington.
